De facto, a maioria destes animais tinha problemas de sa\u00fade, a maioria era vadia e muitos deles estavam acorrentados ou confinados em \u00e1reas insalubres. Os dois principais objetivos deste projeto s\u00e3o compreender o fen\u00f3meno social dos c\u00e3es e gatos vadios na Praia de Faro e a rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre as pessoas e os seus c\u00e3es e gatos, bem como com os animais vadios. Os problemas te\u00f3ricos invocados exigem o conhecimento dos estudos sobre animais ou estudos humano-animais (HAS), na vers\u00e3o anglo-sax\u00f3nica, e das <em>rela\u00e7\u00f5es antropozool\u00f3gicas<\/em> (RAZ), na vers\u00e3o francesa.<\/p><p>Este estudo baseia-se nos dados de quatro aplica\u00e7\u00f5es (novembro de 2013, N = 151; agosto de 2014, N = 150; outubro de 2014, N = 124; junho de 2015, N = 83) de um inqu\u00e9rito realizado pela Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Change for Animals. No entanto, como n\u00e3o temos uma amostra aleat\u00f3ria, n\u00e3o \u00e9 poss\u00edvel generalizar estes resultados para toda a popula\u00e7\u00e3o de Praia de Faro. Al\u00e9m disso, como o inqu\u00e9rito n\u00e3o seguiu um desenho de s\u00e9rie temporal, n\u00e3o \u00e9 poss\u00edvel comparar as respostas antes e depois da interven\u00e7\u00e3o. Isto n\u00e3o significa que estes resultados n\u00e3o sejam reveladores, de uma perspetiva sociol\u00f3gica e explorat\u00f3ria.<\/p><p>Pela primeira vez em Portugal, este projeto abordar\u00e1 o problema social dos c\u00e3es e gatos vadios, de acordo com os seguintes objetivos do inqu\u00e9rito: 1. Analisar as atitudes em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos animais na Praia de Faro 2. Comportamento dos donos: a) Como\/onde s\u00e3o mantidos os c\u00e3es\/gatos com dono; b) Por que raz\u00e3o s\u00e3o mantidos os c\u00e3es\/gatos com dono; c) N\u00edvel de conhecimento sobre cuidados b\u00e1sicos com c\u00e3es\/gatos; d) Barreiras \u00e0 presta\u00e7\u00e3o de cuidados adequados 3. Determinar qual \u00e9 o \u00abproblema\u00bb com os gatos\/c\u00e3es, tal como expresso pelos indiv\u00edduos 4.
