H\u00e1 um consenso geral de que estamos atualmente a atravessar uma policrise de origem humana, formada a partir das intera\u00e7\u00f5es entre mudan\u00e7as negativas na biodiversidade e no clima, amplificadas pelos efeitos da polui\u00e7\u00e3o. Muitos dos processos internacionais est\u00e3o a tentar encontrar solu\u00e7\u00f5es para esta crise e, cada vez mais, isso envolve invocar abordagens bioculturais.<\/p>\n


As origens da abordagem biocultural est\u00e3o na Declara\u00e7\u00e3o de Bel\u00e9m (1988) do Primeiro Congresso Internacional de Etnobiologia, realizado em Bel\u00e9m, Brasil. O termo biocultural n\u00e3o constava da Declara\u00e7\u00e3o, mas esta observava: \u00abQue existe uma liga\u00e7\u00e3o inextric\u00e1vel entre a diversidade cultural e a diversidade biol\u00f3gica\u00bb.<\/p>\n


Este conceito biocultural estende-se para incluir a cria\u00e7\u00e3o e manuten\u00e7\u00e3o de paisagens tradicionais e dos sistemas ecol\u00f3gicos dentro delas. A Conven\u00e7\u00e3o sobre Diversidade Biol\u00f3gica (CDB) integrou perspetivas bioculturais no seu Plano Estrat\u00e9gico para a Biodiversidade 2011-2020, no qual o patrim\u00f3nio biocultural foi visto como um promotor fundamental da resili\u00eancia. O Quadro Global de Biodiversidade de Kunming-Montreal, adotado em 2022 pela Conven\u00e7\u00e3o sobre Diversidade Biol\u00f3gica, d\u00e1 continuidade a essa conex\u00e3o ao reconhecer \u201cas importantes liga\u00e7\u00f5es entre a diversidade biol\u00f3gica e cultural\u201d.<\/p>\n


Uma abordagem biocultural tamb\u00e9m reconhece o conhecimento como \u201cpatrim\u00f3nio\u201d, refletindo assim o seu car\u00e1ter custodial e intergeracional. As paisagens culturais inscritas na Conven\u00e7\u00e3o do Patrim\u00f3nio Mundial s\u00e3o exemplos de patrim\u00f3nio biocultural.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Os ativos e o patrim\u00f3nio bioculturais resultam das intera\u00e7\u00f5es entre as pessoas e a natureza num determinado momento e num determinado local. Essas intera\u00e7\u00f5es podem ajudar a moderar as mudan\u00e7as negativas na biodiversidade, contribuindo, por sua vez, para a mitiga\u00e7\u00e3o e adapta\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0s mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas negativas. Reconhecer, apoiar e conservar as paisagens culturais \u00e9 um processo fundamental para amenizar e gerir a policrise e os seus efeitos.\u00a0<\/p>\n
