Este \u00e9 um projeto n\u00e3o financiado sobre o papel que os animais de companhia t\u00eam na constru\u00e7\u00e3o das vidas de indiv\u00edduos LGBTQ+. Cruzando contributos da sociologia da amizade, estudos queer e estudos sobre a rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre humanos e animais, o projeto explora as experi\u00eancias de indiv\u00edduos auto-identificados como gays, l\u00e9sbicas, bissexuais ou queer, que vivam com um (ou mais) animal de companhia h\u00e1 (pelo menos) um ano. Tomando como refer\u00eancia a sua comunidade pessoal, entendida como a rede ativa e significativa de la\u00e7os pessoais considerados centrais nas suas vidas, o projeto explora as formas de fus\u00e3o emergentes e diversas entre humanos e os seus animais companheiros (que surgem \u201ccomo fam\u00edlia\u201d e\/ou \u201ccomo amigos\u201d). Este significado atribu\u00eddo aos animais de companhia \u00e9 transversal independentemente da identidade sexual, e tamb\u00e9m se encontra entre indiv\u00edduos n\u00e3o-LGBTQ+. \u00a0Os animais de companhia parecem contribuir para \u201cqueerizar\u201d o significado contempor\u00e2neo da amizade, na medida em que se destacam como importantes (e reconhecidas) fontes de cuidado, quer na vida quotidiana, quer em momentos cr\u00edticos.<\/p>\n

Rita Gouveia is post-doc researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ICS-ULisboa). She has a BA in Social Psychology, a Master in Psychology of Education and Development, and a PhD in Sociology of Family, Gender, and Youth. Since 2014, she is member of the Executive Board of the RN13 Sociology of Families and Intimate Lives of the European Sociological Association and she was board member of the European Society of Family Relations (ESFR) between 2012 and 2018. Over the last decade, she has been strongly engaged in the development of theoretical and empirical research on families, personal networks, conjugalities, and life course at both national and international level. Another transversal dimension of her research interests is the permanent investment in innovative methodologies and complex datasets, such as social network analysis or longitudinal designs. She is currently investigating the changing meanings and practices of family in personal networks of gay men and lesbians in Portugal.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
